Visit Living ShoresIn the 1950’s, New Hampshire natives Bob and Ruth Morell were stationed in Germany serving the U.S. Army. When they returned home with 25 handmade dolls based on characters from classic children’s books, they knew they needed to bring those stories to life. The Morrells decided to build a village for the storybook characters and other storybook animals. In 1954 that village opened in Glen, NH and is home to endless family memories for 70 years and counting.
